Re: Halloween Pumpkin Show Off!
I spent nearly an hour finding a perfect large and small pumpkin so I haven't had the heart to carve either yet. I think it'll take a boring Friday evening to get me to do it Anyone have any tips? I always seem to end up with really bad looking pumpkins xD

Wow, wonderful pumpkins indeed! I love the kitties! Shame I currently reside in a flat, I'd love to have a carved pumpkin this year
I wish that time would stand still,
if this was part of a film
we would watch the clip all day,
like a portrait of you and I...

Doesnt mean you cant have one inside. Just use a electic tea light, they make them for pumpkins specifcally. I prefer them anyways because they dont blow out.Wow, wonderful pumpkins indeed! I love the kitties! Shame I currently reside in a flat, I'd love to have a carved pumpkin this year

Re: Halloween Pumpkin Show Off!
i love carving pumpkins!!!
Every year at my job there is a pumpkin carving contest. I work at and arts and entertainment college, so competition in the contest is always stiff!
the first year I entered for my department this was my and my team's pumpkin entry. I work in career development, so I tried to symbolize launching a career with a rocket pumpkin:
Last year I actually won 1st place! *squee* with some help from a dedicated co-worker, we came up with a version of Cinderella's coach:
This year I am pretty much going it alone. I am doing a Harvest Moon diarama. I want to carve the pumpkin like a big Victorian lookin man in the moon. It will sit in this scene I've thrown together:
I'm goin to try to take all of the outside orange skin off, and carve into the more yellowy bits underneth. hopefully it will work out! I have never carved one this way before! I'll post more pics when its finished!

Re: Halloween Pumpkin Show Off!
finished my pumpkin last night! It was hard to get nice pics because of the lighting needed to show off the diarama and get the pumpkin to glow, so it looks a smidge better in person. I'm toying with the idea of adding clouds in the night sky, since the contest isn't until tomorrow afternoon.
