I didn't leave it in for long enough because I was doing one take. I could've stopped and waited for a few minutes but I was getting sick by the second! There are so many ways to make felt. I make mine differently, but yours look great.
The main difference I could see was that I do a soapy stage and a rinsing stage.
In your method, it'd be the equivalent of using hot non-soapy water for the 3rd dunk.
Doubt it makes too much difference, but I'm paranoid about having soap left in the felt.

Like visual tips for nice clean sectioning in a good pattern so those gnarly little
gaps don't show up between the dreads.

I know about the wet/dry machines for flat sheets. But darn it, a felting machine which produces cylinders IS possible. If I built and operated the machine myself, I think I'd still feel very involved in the process. AND the ends will always need to be hand done.Jane Doe wrote:

I can tell you how to make them (and possibly do a video), but I warn you it takes a veeeeery long time to get them stiff enough to not fall apart. PM me if you're still interested in a tut and I'll see what I can do.
