Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Before I removed my dreads (I had them for 6 months):
2 months old
back, 4 months old
5 months
final days =[
i got rid of them because i used wax, which i thought was a good idea at the time.

These were my dreadlocks before I cut them off
MISS THEM SO MUCH! (Even though my roots were shameful!)
They have extentions on the ends...
I'm gunna get some synths until my hair grows long enough for me to make perminent extentions.

Here's mine on day one:
Edit: I just updated with a less blurry picture... and I just counted them - there's 68 dreads in total...

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Happy new dreadlocks, Desiree. I love the colour, can't wait to watch them progress.
I've been working with images the past couple of days and have found some worth sharing. The first couple were taken last summer. The colour was Pastel Pink by Directions and turned out way brighter than I expected. We renamed it Neon Prawn.
And this one from last month. I have (very badly!) splodged out the red-eye, sorry. But it was a freaky pic with my eyes matching my hair!
I have been having feelings that I want to cut them off and start again without the unnatural colours but then I look at pictures and think maybe not.

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Thanks woolhairhabit, I'm exhited and already loving the process.
I've had un-natural colours for years, and actually wanted to go all natural for the real dreads, but everytime I see your dreads, I want to dye mine red...
Love the braid!

Graceeeeeeeeyyyyy. Stop posting beautiful picture of yourself damnit. I want dreads every time I see you with yours and and and and it just wouldn't be a great idea because I don't have the patience to look after them properly!
Seriously though, omg <3 BIG love! Did the Neon Prawn fade to a lighter pink; or did you just dye over it with red?
Desiree, your dreads look beautifully long and neat. Very nice colour too

Mine turned 5 months last weekend.

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Wow Taraiha, they really are progressing! Looking good, I love the photo with the flower.
I do really wish there was an official show-off for natural dreads on here. Thanks for the comments, hellsbells
The prawn faded to a kind of salmon pink (I think there is a pic a few pages back). I actually like the colour now when I look back at pictures but I was really unsure at the time In between that and the red, I did it kind of brick-red. There are probably pics of that too as I have kind of spammed this topichellsbells wrote:Seriously though, omg <3 BIG love! That crocheting you did really helped. I've barely even have to separate them since.

You have some of the nicest dreads I've ever seen Desiree, & they look so "worn in" considering they're only a few weeks old. Simply Stunning!

Looking beautiful there, Desiree
A quick pic of what I did the other day to keep myself cool on a hot day. I got told i looked like something off the Simpsons
Gormless face, not a scrap of make-up and the scab left from my spot-picking antics

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
this probably makes me sound like a mega creeper (which im not) but, you're dreads are the most beautiful things i've ever seen. i really want to dread up my hair, though everyone once in a while ill have second guesses about doing it. whenever i do i look at your dreads and all worries about getting them are gone.woolhairhabit wrote:Happy new dreadlocks, Desiree. Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Now my dreads are two months.
I'm about to extend them with some cut of real dreads from Kittycat and some dreads I've made from human hair wefts leftover.
I'm in the process of dying them, to match my hair - that's really not that easy to do, but hopefully I'll get there soon...

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
After dying the extensions 4 times and then bleaching them, they look quite like my own hair.
It takes a while doing the extension, but it fun.
I'm about half done, and loving it, but have to stop now to go to work! I word as a nurse, and have to have my hair tied up, so I did this herringbone-type of braid, to hide the fact that only half of the dreads are extended.
I know the picture is quite shaken, but I couldn't wait to post this... I'll get some clearer pictures soon.

Re: Dreadlock Pictures
Your dreads are PERFECT! Lovely! What sort of hair did you have before? Fine or thick, wavy or straight??Nawtali wrote:I might aswell throw in some pics of my hair too. ^^
They're about 7 months old now. I used to have some really weird and wild dreads before. They where pretty much naturally dreaded. They looked really good until they started curling themselves into "s". And after awhile my hair where half the lenght it was from the beginning. So my mom helped me comb everything out x'S And then i made new ones at http://babayaga.se/
Here's mine, my friend did them something terrible at the back of my head, I'll show before and after pictures, my hair was very fine and straight and she just sort of, flat carpet matted it to my head?! I don't know, but after a while I got my boyfriend to cut them out cos he was maintaining them for me (and he was doing a good job on a terrible mess) and they had BLUE MOULD IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM... wish I'd taken a pic cos it was GROSS!!
straight after
horrid matted bit at the back (i'd just washed them... i was waxing them too with DAX WAX.... it smelt good though..)
