my first FIXED WIG!!!! (pic heavy)

Post by Frost.Salamander » Tue Jul 26, 2011 3:31 am

ok, so long story short, i have been trying to find a wig (long red mullet) for an anime convention the past few months and havent had much luck. in total i bought 3 wigs. the first was a short wig i couldnt find matching extensions for, the second was a long wig i was going to cut but the wig was too pretty and soft to mess with >_<, and the third wig i bought was a pre-styled wig off ebay.
this pre-styled wig seemed to be the perfect wig. it was in a cut i needed and the color i needed. however when i got the wig i was suoer upset and wanted to cry when i saw it. it was the thinnest and baldest wig i have ever seen in front of my eyes!! while "negotiating" (aka b**ching out the seller) at least a partial refund, i bought some hh weft and hand sewn/glued it in until i was satisfied with the fullness.

these are the before and after pictures of the same wig:

AFTER ^_^ :

the after pictures are before i cut the wig. those pictures will be up maybe next week.
so, what do you think??
i'm really proud of it..... and scared to cut it now lol
^_^
(ps: i paid $30 plus shipping, i was able to get $26 back from the seller to pay for the weft to fix the wig) :i2:

Now there's a lesson learned, if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself! ;)

Well done! You filled it in nicely. I can't see any holes at all.

Thumbs up here (^_^)b

thanks everyone!!

it looked even worse at first if you can believe it! and the wig was actually listed at $39 and i talked her down to $30.. terrible

and when i first sent the email saying this wig is crap, she literally said, " im so sorry to hear how upset you are, i will make it better next :)"

NEXT TIME?!! uhhh no..... you do it now

im just thankful im on this forum, or i may not have known how to fix it, and the fact the wig is made of good quality kk. :D

You did an amazing job on that wig, you should consider playing more around with wigs, maybe get into selling some time :)

Wonderful work! :)
I go to Anime Conventions myself and do cosplay so I know how important accuracy is with wigs.
Post a picture of the cut/mullet when your done!
