First attempt at crochet dreads. Pic Heavy

Post by Jynx » Mon Jun 13, 2011 7:34 am

The first was the bubblegum dread, the second the bubblegum and dark purple (the dark purple was all added on after the dread was made) and last the short strawberry dread. Let me know what you think!

It's definitely quite strange!! I think it would look better with more purple, but that one took me ages! Next time I'll blend a little in, first.

I like the strawberry one. Gorgeous texture & also looks about the prefect thickness.

That purple one took 45 minutes!! The strawberry took 20 minutes, the first one I'm not too sure, but it was a while! I think the bubblegum sealed up a bit differently, and I didn't backcomb the strawberry one quite as tightly. It's amazingly soft!

And yes, Lara, I'm practicing so I can make you an amazing set of dreads! :D

If I can be arsed installing them lmfao!!!
I tried today and gave up before I even managed to braid in one dread... My arms and neck gave up!

I could make you a wig!! Especially if you'd like a lime green base, I have one of those waist length ones just sitting here! I know how you feel though (at least somewhat), I have to install dreads when I'm not making them, and even then it takes me way longer than it should!

There were purely practice, but I'm making a set for a friend of mine in this style.

Really digging the slight splashes of purple in contrast to the bright pink. Would be interested in seeing a full set of these kinds of dreads. ;)

The strawberry one looks perfect, and I like the texture of the pink and purple one.

These look lovely! I am in lust with the texture, this is an amazing first go at crochet dreads. Better than any attempt I've made that's for sure. :i9: I think the purple/pink one looks perfect just how it is!
