loose curlies

Post by slaaneshque » Tue May 24, 2011 2:26 pm

I made a little set of dreads yesterday and installed them today. They looked like this yesterday:

and like this today:

(Inconspicuous white rubber bands are inconspicuous! I couldn't find my black ones and it's not worth the gas to go buy more--I live pretty far from stores that sell them.)

I like them, but the curls stretched out a lot as I installed them. They were awfully loose to begin with--how do you maintain curl during install? I used perm rods and just-boiled water to set the curls. Also, any tips on installing SE dreads on very short hair? I've read the DE tutorial, but I have so little hair that DE dreads are a bit bulky for me. Thank you!

Thanks! The video was helpful--her technique is a little different than mine, so I will have to try it out next time I do this. :)
