I don't speak Finnish, but there are pictures that show what she's doing..
1. Cut strips of foam using a straightedge and a smooth, sharp blade (box cutters are good as long as the blade isn't dull from, ya know, cutting boxes). Make the pieces 1 to 1.5cm wide, and no wider than 2cm.
2. Glue two pieces together with a hot glue gun (there is also glue made especially for foam that would probably work really well for this).
3. Fold the foam strips in half so you've got "foam DEs"
4. Put a rubberband around the folds to make little loops at the top. The picture of the yellow falls shows bundles with more than one folded piece of foam in them, but the tutorial only shows 1 piece.
5. Thread a piece of ribbon through the loops in the foam. An easy way to do this is to fasten a safety pin through the end of the ribbon and thread that through first. _________________ For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you. |

The picture of the yellow falls shows bundles with more than one folded piece of foam in them, but the tutorial only shows 1 piece. You'd need to use more than one piece per bundle to get more volume.
You can also make several ribbons and knot them all toghether _________________ For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you. |

Hi there,
I've been meaning to translate the tutorial, but I've just been way too busy to do that - and will be the whole month. All work and no play makes me a dull girl.
In normal foam falls (like the blue ones) I use three layers of foam stripes per fall - and when I want extra volume, I tie up to 3-4 "foam DE's" in one bundle.
Hope this helps for now. _________________ Fake your hair: Dreadviolet Hair Creations |
