|
|
I wanted to wrap some rexlace around some dreads.
So I was going to just wrap it around a couple times at the middle of the dread, then crisscross it a few times so it looks like little x's, then wrap it around a few times again, and then crisscross it again, etc.
But how do I secure the ends of the rexlace? I don't want to knot them and have them sticking out (if they're short) or hanging down (if they're long).
Besides a rubber band. How could I do it. I want it to really stay. Anyone tried heating the ends together so they melt together? I'm hoping there is something easier, but I might try that. |

You can melt them with a braid sealer, but it takes a really long time and the hair will melt *way* before the rexlace does _________________ For every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you. |

You're wrapping the rexlace down the length of the dread?
I did that, and I just curled the rexlace around the very tip of the dread horizontally, so that the tip of the dread was enclosed by the rexlace, and steamed it, so it stuck in that shape.
Excuse the messy room, but:
Can you see where it stops being a dread, and becomes rexlace? |

you could secure the rexlace with a micro ring, and use a latch hook to pull the end into the dread?? _________________ www.daniello.dk |

I wore them for a few days. They stayed pretty good, but like they became slightly loose.
If I was to do them again, I'd wrap the rexlace around a couple of extra times. |

see, that's what I'm talking about! I knew some genius here would have an idea. What would I do w/out the hair board?
I wasn't thinking of something like that though, i was just talking about something kind of like this:
With rexlace instead of ribbon. |

Can I get micro rings at a beauty supply? Or do I need to order them online? Or sheesh, does any body have 2 or 3 they'd be willing to part with? I should post in the swaps. |
