well they'd be little. Like, under 12" tall, or something along those lines.
I might just open a thread with my idea and make a poll. |

Oh yeah!!
My mate had a builld a bear party for her 16th (last year). The people in the shop had NO idea what to do with a massive group of 15/16 year olds. _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

Hahaha that sounds chaotic.
Doesn't it get a bit pricey though?
I think it would be so fun to do! Would clothes and stuff be included? |

I was thinkin probably not clothes because that's wear the costs really start to add up.
I mean, a top could be £5, a pair of jeans another £5, a pair of shoes another £5 which means £15 on top of a £18 bear..thats very pricey for a bear.. _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

Yeah, I remember the Bear Factory...they had alot better choices for bears/clothing. When I was little I had a black and white cat in chinese style pajamas and little slippers in the shape of a cats face ^.^ _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

I was thinkin should we do a US only and a UK only one? I know the US might have bears us UK people can't get but the bears are going to be quite big....shipping would probably be alot. _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

as long as you get people to specify if they want uk/us only it shouldn't be a problem.. unless you only get 1 person signs up from a particular country it'll work fine (circle swap if odd number)
the only thing puts me off that idea is the cost tbh, I'd be worried about getting paired with someone who doesn't send.. i'm not so fussed about it on the £10 swaps where postage is cheap, but on a £20 bear with postage on top, i'd want to be sure of receiving something.. _________________ deviantart |

I can understand that but there's no way of being sure whether or not the person will send. Even if you did do something like 'Only members with 300 + posts can apply' you can still never be sure.
I know this is really harsh but I really think there should be a rule with newbies joining in on swaps. For example, my swap partner to send to was a newbie (with about 8 posts) and I sent her parcel yet because she was new the kinda 'excitement phase' (has anyone noticed that happen? Some people come on the board make about up to 30 posts then lose interest) wore off and she never ended up completing her part of the swap. _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

If I'm running the swap I would make delivery confirmation an imperative.
I always put confirmation on everything I send out, it's the best thing you can do. |

yeah.. I always get proof of postage on everything I send, would definitely do tracked etc on something that size.. and I know you can never guarantee you'll receive, but I wouldn't wanted to be paired with, as you said, someone with 8 posts in the 'excitement stage' (know exactly what you mean) the problem is I'm relatively new here myself, so there's no way I can ask to be paired with a longstanding member! I kinda agree about the newbie rule, but it'd be really hard to do.. could get round the 'excitement stage' bit I suppose! _________________ deviantart |

T-rex!!!
You know, I think it would sound quite elitist to have the no-newbies rule, but maybe it would have to be enforced.
I know that on hair swaps in the past, the members would vote on whether a person with 4 stars could join. Perhaps we could do that with the Build-A-Bear swap?
Also, what do you think of this idea:
Including a photo of the finished plush. Since I'm from Hawaii maybe I'll take it to a lookout overlooking a valley with waterfalls and then snap a photo, so it's like "Your bear has been here!" or something.... .... ...err, lol. Shoot me if I sound crazy |

I know what I said sounds harsh but if people get bored of the board then they only have to stop coming on her and they'd never have to send their stuff. Whereas, older established members can be hunted down (in a non violent way of course)
Well the A&P section has a rule on membership time and post count so why not here too? _________________ You only wish I was still sexually harassing you!

I know what you mean. I hate getting ripped off, and it's only happened in the Swap Shop before
Perhaps we should bring it to vainvixen's attention that a rule should be affixed to the thread stating that you'll have to have 25 posts as well. (Doesn't help much, but it's something!) |

awesome idea you know, I may have to join in anyway, I like sending things.. depends on money situation when this happens haha.. I'm buying far too much from a&p at the moment, I should be banned from that bit of the board for the safety of my bank account, haha.. also I want to save and order some dreads from you annloses, your showoffs are stunning

AND A LITTLE BOW! OMG! *dies of cuteness*
I'm so jealous, I didn't know about the Build-a-Dino. Then again I'm from Hawaii, which only has 50% of what the mainland does. ;( Sad, the life. |
