I'm not sure if this is the right section and sorry if it isn't. I was just watching Annloses' blanket stitch braid tutorial and an idea struck me. Has anyone ever tried making wrapped dreads using rexlace or a similar thin plastic? If done all over the head, would it be too heavy? Or even done halfway down the sections of hair. In my mind I can see this as looking pretty cool, so has anyone ever tried it? Or would they be willing to try it and post the results?

I apologise to the mods if this thread shouldn't be here.

Hehe, I was like "Ooh that's me"

You know, I was actually considering trying that a week ago. The thing about rexlace is that it doesn't really...stay? Idk. I won't know until I try it, but tubing seems to be more bendable and stuff, but rexlace will lie flat because it's flat in shape.
I think that to blanket stitch down the dread with plastic would look so amazing. If I ever get around to doing it, I'll post pictures here

...nurrr, in fact I'll just do some today and post it later I'm all curious.

It might work better with S'Ghetti instead of rexlace.

hmmm....this is interesting. It's something I'd be willing to try when I have the time. I'll post results if I get to it!

I made 'plastic dreads' once many, many years ago. I had like six in the front of my head and only kept them in for the nite. Looked pretty neat tho.
