I just ordered a bunch of crin for my first crin fall adventure, and I've been looking around for tutorials(no such luck(if anyone has any, point me in the right direction, please)), and then just at pictures for reference, and I seem to see alot that are just done on hair ties

is there a reason for this? it seems like it wouldn't be sturdy in the long run

I've made both crin falls that are mounted on lace, and some that i just laid the pieces out flat and wrapped elastic around the middle.

Its really down to preference i feel. crin is easy to work with in that it is light weight and easy to pin down where you need it. I find elastics make it easy to take them off and on again to reuse it and make different color combinations quickly. mounting on lace is a bit more permanent i suppose.

I didn't mean on lace, I mount my falls(normal synth dreads) on elastics, I just find it different that people are using plain old hairties, it seems like they have a higher chance of snapping

I just knot them tight over elastic or lace

Maybe I'm thick but what's the difference between elastics and hairties?

Elastics are just strips of elastic, like what you would use if you were sewing an elastic waistband

I've looked at 2 but the first one I couldn't understand her at all and the other I didn't like how they looked at first, so if you would point me in the way to some good videos, that would be awesome!

I imagine I'm gonna go with normal elastic anyways, because I'm a 'wear falls every day I'm not at work' kind of girl, but I was curious if there was a reason.
