I use a section of rexlace and tie it.

I double knot it, and I pull it really tight to where the rexlace stretches. It hasn't come undone yet. XD

Crin was originally made as a decorative ribbon for packages and stuff (think Christmas presents!), so it is meant to be tied in knots and stay in place. I also just knot mine or loop the elastic around it, the same way I make loose ponyfalls.
